Carlos Barron, Colorado House-48 Representative, and Scott Bright, Colorado Senate-13 Representative, attended a town hall event sponsored by Convention of States (COS) and organized by Wayne Walvoord. Wayne is the Northern and Eastern Colorado Regional Captain for COS. The town hall event was moderated by John Grabowski, COS State Legislative Liaison and photos were taken by COS Volunteer Sal Celauro.
The event was held on Sunday, January 5th at the Brighton Colorado International House of Pancakes (IHOP). Wayne tentatively plans to host these town hall events at IHOP the first Sunday of every month from 4pm – 5pm with an optional dinner afterword. IHOP is located in the Palizzi Market Place at 962 South 4th Ave, Brighton Colorado, 80601 (Bromley and 4th Ave.).
These town hall events offer an excellent opportunity for constituents to meet their elected representatives and understand their political initiatives and goals. These events also offer constituents the chance to meet COS volunteers and better understand the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives to get an Article V convention of states to amend the Constitution.
Below were the town hall highlights:
· 12 people attended the town hall event.
· Wayne kicked off the event by handing out literature and informing attendees of the COS mission.
· Carlos Barron addressed several questions from those in attendance.
· Scott Bright also spoke to several inquiries from the audience.
· Several people stayed after the event ended and enjoyed a meal with casual conversation between CD-8 constituents, Carlos Barron, Scott Bright, and COS volunteers.
· Wayne closed the event by showing a video that summed up COS 2024 activities.
Wayne also hosted a town hall in early December with CD-8 U.S. House of Representative Gabe Evans and CD-8 Colorado State Board of Education Yazmin Navarro.
