It was a clear, crisp beautiful day to join the team under the gold dome. This year's event might be one of the best yet. In case you missed it, here are some highlights and pictures.
The mission for Convention of States is to "Build an engaged army of self-governing grassroots activists." While our main goal is to attain 34 states resolutions to call the first convention, Georgia is considered a leader by being the first state to pass the resolution on March 6, 2014.
The three topics of our resolution are to:
Limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government
Impose Fiscal Restraints
Place term limits on federal officials
We have also been watching legislation that affects freedom, federalism and fundamental rights. Currently we are watching:
HB133 - to provide for public school students to be permitted to attend courses in religious moral instruction, et.al.
SB1: -to amend Title 20 of the OCGA, so as to provide generally for fair and safe student participation in sports (Protecting girls in sports)
SB36: - an act to amend Title 50 so as to provide for the preservation of religious freedom
Crossover day was March 7, 2025. If you want to test your skills, lookup the bills to see if they passed in their chamber to "crossover" into the other chamber.
As always, it was a pleasure and greatly appreciated to enjoy the company of Mark Meckler, Founder, Jonathan Viaud, Regional Director and Daniel from the National Team. Many members of the team were able to get to know them and take pictures with them.
