Erstwhile Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned following scrutiny over the Trump assassination attempt, wanted to destroy key evidence in the investigation into the cocaine found in the White House last summer, according to three unnamed witnesses from within the Secret Service.
Sources familiar with the matter say the agency sparred over how to handle the bag of cocaine discovered on July 2, 2023, with Cheatle seeking to destroy the evidence. Reportedly, the Secret Service Forensics Services Division and the Uniformed Division would not allow her to dispose of the mysterious drug.
Additionally, sources claim that one officer assigned to investigate the incident was removed from the case after requesting to adhere to crime-scene protocol.

President Joe Biden and his family were not at the White House at the time. However, Hunter Biden, the president’s son who previously struggled with cocaine and other drugs, had been staying at the White House before the drugs were found, leading to speculation that they might have belonged to him. An investigation into the matter was concluded on July 13, having discovered no suspect.
“The whole sordid affair raises a big question,” opined the New York Post's editorial board. “Why on Earth would the director of the Secret Service care at all whether a small bag of coke was destroyed or simply sat on a shelf somewhere? Sounds like a case of aggressively not wanting to know whose it was. Which strongly suggests that Cheatle and her minions suspected it might be Hunter Biden’s.”
“The Great Coke Affair would almost be funny, an inept comedy of errors,” they continued. “Except that turning the Secret Service into a clown show almost cost GOP nominee Donald Trump his life.”

As I wrote yesterday, when the government fails to address the people’s questions, it only breeds more skepticism. Best case scenario, this embarrassing White House fiasco highlights the incompetence and inefficiency of our federal government. Worst case scenario, it means that Cheatle and others were involved in a high-profile cover-up to deceive the American people. In either case, if we cannot even trust the feds to discover the truth about who brought drugs into the White House, can we really trust them to govern our homes?
