Is anyone listening to America’s Titans of Industry and Finance? Elon Musk, Warren Buffet, Jerome Powell, and Jamie Dimon are all voicing concerns that increasing government debt cannot continue.
“US national debt growth is unsustainable” according to Elon Musk.
Jamie Dimon CEO of JPMorgan and Brian Moynihan of Bank of America have each expressed deep concerns over government debt.
Warren Buffet suggests federal legislation be established that would make any elected official who votes in support of a government budget that exceeds revenues ineligible to run for any further public office.
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell stated that “Elected people need to get their arms around government debt sooner rather than later, Washington needs to have an adult conversation”.
Their alarming comments appear to be falling on deaf ears in Washington. The national debt has now exceeded $266K/taxpayer. Shortly, the nation’s largest annual expenditure will be serving the interest on the national debt, exceeding national defense expenditures.
The realization that the federal government could reach insolvency is not all that unrealistic. It happened to the giant General Motors. Who could have imagined that?
So, what are American people supposed to do if this is an unacceptable path?
Well, there is something that can be done! Join the Convention of States grassroots movement!
The Convention of States is a grass-roots, non-partisan, organization with a solution. Utilizing the Article 5 process of the US Constitution, the Convention of States organization is calling for a Convention proposing the following amendments to the Constitution:
1. Fiscal restraint of federal government spending
2. Implementation of term limits upon all Federal Officials (which is supported by more than 80% of all Americans)
3. Restrict the scope, power, and jurisdiction of the federal government over states
