Albert Torres is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan and a former CIA operative. Like many of our brave men and women of the armed forces, he's disgusted by how President Joe Biden has handled the situation in Afghanistan, and he voiced that frustration on a recent episode of COS Live!
"I know from experience that the military would have given him all kinds of options that give themselves the best opportunity for a successful operation. I'm sure the intelligence on the ground were giving him the information that says, this is the reality," he said. "It seems like this administration, and everybody behind the President, are looking more towards the optics."
Like many frustrated veterans, Al has joined the Convention of States movement because he believes that the federal government is out of control. Our elected and unelected officials believe that they possess unlimited power and that they can make decisions without the consent of We the People.
Those days are numbered. An Article V Convention of States can propose constitutional amendments that limit the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government. These amendments can kick out career politicians like Biden and force Congress to be fiscally responsible. Ultimately, amendments proposed at a Convention of States can put We the People back in charge by decentralizing power and giving more decision-making authority to the people and the states.
