5 Ways to Save Their America

Published in Blog on October 18, 2024 by Jakob Fay

Here at Convention of States, we have been focused on saving America for the next generation, knowing that our children and grandchildren may not enjoy the same freedoms we grew up with if we are unwilling to fight.

But what does it actually mean to save their America?

Here are five great ways to get started.

1. Vote

Sounds basic, right? But voting is one of the most important things you can do to ensure that your values are represented in your area. Everyone focuses on federal elections. But local and state elections may be just as crucial. Those obscure propositions on the ballot this year very well may shape the kind of community your progeny grows up in. Don’t let your vote go to waste. Stay informed about every issue on the ballot, and vote wisely.

2. Stay Involved

Political campaigns and movements (like this one!) will push you to “get involved.” That’s great. However, you must not neglect to stay involved in your kids’ lives, too. As a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, or trusted adult mentor, you set the example of what it means to be a responsible, self-governing American. Don’t just talk about what you believe. Live out your values in real-time for your kids to see. Saving their America really may be as simple as playing catch with your son or cheering your daughter on at her recital — proving to them that you care. Of course, we want you to stay politically involved. Just don’t neglect those you are fighting to save!

3.  Educate

The education system in this country is failing our kids. Parents, it’s now up to you to stand in the gap and teach your kids the TRUTH about American history. The next generation of American leaders has already been trained to hate their country and its rich heritage. You must counter that trend. Does your child know that America was founded in 1776, not 1619? Does he or she know why the U.S. Constitution is one of the most exceptional political documents ever devised by man, not some outdated, racist, pro-slavery manifesto? It’s up to you to teach them these lessons and reverse the gains of the America-hating revisionists.

4. Donate

I get it. No one wants to talk about this one. But saving their America comes at a cost. Our enemies, including China, are pouring millions of dollars into this country to sow seeds of chaos and indoctrinate our youth. Destroying our country is worth it to them. Is saving it worth it to us? Be wise with your finances, of course. But when you find a cause you believe is doing demonstrable good for America, please don’t hesitate to chip in.

5. Join Convention of States

Too many organizations focus solely on short-term, “quick fixes.” Not so with Convention of States. We take a more generational approach. We’re not interested in makeshift “victories” that only kick the can down the road for future generations to deal with. That’s not a real solution. It’s merely a bandaid on a gaping gun wound! At Convention of States, we aim to get to the heart of the matter so that millions of Americans yet unborn may know what it’s like to live in a free country. We truly believe in saving their America.

If you care about this country, its future, and the next generation’s future in it, we call upon you to join the movement. Help us save their America today by signing the petition below!

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
