Kansas 2025 Veteran Volunteer Survey

Gun Show Petition Events: Are you willing to help man a table at a local gun show?

Our gun show volunteers, usually in teams of two, explain Article V of the Constitution and how Convention of States is building nationwide grassroots support for the states initiating amendments that we know Congress will never propose.

Local Fair Petition Events: Are you willing to man a booth at a local fair or festival?

Our volunteers man booths at county fairs, trade shows or festivals. Could be indoor or outdoor. Usually limited to 4-hour shifts.

Block Walking Petition Events: Are you willing to go door-to-door for two hours in a local neighborhood to solicit petition signatures?

We go door-to-door in target districts to increase awareness of Convention of States. We typically limit this to districts where we need more COS supporters to affect one or both legislators.

Neighborhood Meeting Petition Events: Are you willing to host or help host a neighborhood meeting to introduce Convention of States to your friends and neighbors?

Hosts are asked to invite friends and neighbors to meet while a seasoned COS volunteer will show a video and answer questions about COS. Snacks and refreshments are optional.

Pop-Up Petition Events: Are you interested in participating in a pop-up petition event at a ball game parking lot, farmers market, livestock sale barn or a store?

Pop-up petition events are when COS volunteers show up where a crowd is assembled for another event, such as tail gating at a game, farmers market, sale barn or outside a store. We would not be trespassing or interfering with access to the venue.

Veteran Organization Petition Events: Are you willing to help educate other veterans about COS and grow the grassroots through American Legion, VFW or AMVETS?

Veterans organizations exist to provide support to veterans while advocating for services and benefits to military veterans. All veterans benefits are at risk if or when our government is unable to meet future financial commitments.

TelePatriot Missions: Are you willing to use our TelePatriot tool to make calls to COS supporters asking them to engage in grassroots actions?

TelePatriot missions are used to generate legislative contacts or increase grassroots engagement. Requires a smartphone with the COS Action app.

Follow Up Team: Are you willing to help contact new petitions signers, answer their questions and encourage them to help us grow our grassroots army?

Our Follow Up Team volunteers are assigned one or more Kansas House districts to contact new petition signers from those districts. They are asked to check the Follow Up list at least twice a week and make those follow up calls. Call options include speaking to the person or leaving a voice message, as well as sending a pre-written email.

Letter Writing Campaigns: Are you willing to write letters to legislators or to write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper in support of the amendment process as provided in Article V of the US Constitution?

Volunteers interested in writing letters to the editor or writing letters to their legislators to explain COS objectives and the Article V process.

Do you have other ideas for growing the Kansas grassroots army? If so please share.

We are always interested in discovering new opportunities for reaching Kansans with the Article V process.

Veterans Leadership: Are you willing to help organize petition events with other volunteers in your area?

Leaders step up to take responsibility for completing the mission. Leaders make sure the team is able to perform the mission. Recruit, train and lead the team. We have a list of veterans in your area. We will give you access to the tools to succeed.
