Under the Obama administration, non-elected bureaucrats worked to expand their power over the daily lives of the American people. Now they have a new target: President Trump.
The Washington Free Beacon reported today that a White House security analyst had his top-secret clearance revoked as retribution for Trump’s appointees and policies. That analyst will no longer be permitted to work for the White House, and the Trump administration will have to find someone to replace him.
This incident is part of a potentially larger move by D.C. bureaucrats to politicize security clearances to punish President Trump for appointing conservative aids and advisors. Those who don’t like the President’s policies are working to “neutralize key Trump aides” by revoking their security clearances.
The President is fighting a two-front war: big-government politicians in Congress are working to undermine his policies in the legislature and big-government bureaucrats are doing the same thing in federal agencies. He’s working hard, but he’ll have a hard time truly reducing the power of the federal government with so many obstacles and opponents.
That’s why the American people are turning the bureaucrat’s strategy against them. While federal agencies try to stop Trump’s policies in D.C., millions of Americans have taken the fight outside the beltway and into the states.
The movement to call an Article V Convention of States is gaining steam, and it has the potential to totally disrupt the stranglehold the bureaucrats have in D.C. A Convention of States can propose constitutional amendments that remove power from Washington and return it where it belongs: with the states and the people.
