Opening Day at the Capitol will take place on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 and the session usually opens around Noon and adjourns soon after. Networking and cake will follow.
Although we will not have an information table at this event we do plan to make ourselves known to our Representatives and Senators.
If you would like to connect with other members of the COS Missouri team, please contact Brett Sterley at (417) 423-3833 while on site or sign up below: Brett and others familiar with the Capitol will help you find your way around.
In 2021 the Convention of States Missouri was able to get the sunset clause removed from our resolution to call a convention of the states. The next step will be to work towards passing a bill which will define who will choose the commissioners to any Article V Convention, their qualifications, and how they will receive their instructions.
Because of the chaos involving the redistricting based on the 2020 Census our efforts to get this bill passed in 2022 and 2023 were unsuccessful. We are back for another try and we will need the involvement of the grassroots (you) to help get this accomplished in 2024. The bill is being filed in both the House and Senate; our House Bill is HB1442. We will update this page as soon as the Senate bill is filed.
We hope you join us as we work towards our goal of calling a convention and our mission to educate our fellow Americans, including legislators, about Article V. The Founders gave us a means to correct the abuses in Washington, D.C. Let's use it!

Another Way to Communicate: Share your opinions with others by writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Legislators follow these sources very closely and you can help influence others who know little or nothing about the Convention of States. If your letter to the editor is published, please let the Convention of States Missouri Team know so we can publish it on our website. Contact: joan.mcdermott@cosaction.com
Another Way to Participate: The Convention of States Missouri Team is also planning a Home Surge for those who are unable to travel to the Capitol. You can do both, of course.
Contact Your Legislators in Jefferson City
Thank you for supporting this very important project in our nation’s history. Keep in mind that you can and should contact your legislators whenever you have suggestions or praise. With a few exceptions these individuals work long hours and make great sacrifices to serve the State of Missouri.
