The Convention of States New York team attended the first-ever COS Summit in Williamsburg, VA, from August 22-25.
We were amazed by the absolute dedication to our cause by so many people from all over our republic. The passion of these individuals, who work tirelessly and selflessly to restore our Constitution, was alive in the air around us.
I find it hard to put into words what was experienced over those four days. Between the plenary sessions--where guest speakers like David Barton, Sen. Tom Coburn, the Great One, Mark Levin and Pete Hegseth shared their beliefs and knowledge with us--and the classes we attended--taught by the leaders of our movement--it's difficult to know where to begin!
We were even blessed with speeches from our Founding Fathers, cheering us on in our quest for limited government and fiscal responsibility!
It was an eye-opening experience for all who attended. The New York team worked hard and learned much. We look forward to hitting the ground running in the next year to accomplish our goal of passing the COS resolution in New York. With help from supporters like you, I know we can get this done!
Our team went through some rough times this year, but we are New Yorkers. We carry on! Your team stepped up and took charge of the situation, giving us an even stronger team to go to Albany next year and fight for Article V.
For this and so many other reasons, our team members were awarded the COS Patriot Pin. I'd like to take a moment to thank these wonderful team members who fight the selfless fight every day.
John Ariola
John has been a District Captain for Western New York for many years. His dedication to the cause is legendary. He has been an inspiration to us all, and his knowledge of Article V and the Convention of States Project has led him to present our cause to many groups and individuals in his district. He works tirelessly for COS, and it’s past time he was recognized for all he does!
Michael Beck and Gerry Allen
Mike and Gerry were called upon to step into the Legislative Liaison position. Michael took up the banner for the Assembly and Gerry for the Senate. Together, they have been furthering the cause from day one.
Adam Kovar
Adam is our man behind the scenes. He keeps our systems running, and solves the tech issues to keep our team working. His work is invaluable to the NY team, and it’s time he was recognized for the great job he does!
Janis Gregory
Janis is one of those people who always steps up. If we participate in an event, she’s there. Holding a Surge Day at the capitol? She’s there. Need help calling legislators? Janis is always there.
We spent a cold, rainy, mud-filled day last year at the Oktoberfest, but she didn't once complain or ask to close up shop. She spent three days at our county fair, recruiting petition signers and volunteers.
Janis also traveled to New Jersey to support our COS President Mark Meckler and the COS New Jersey team. She tirelessly pursues the two state representatives, who are imperative in getting our resolution passed. And she does all this while working odd hours for the FDNY! For all this and more, she deserves this Patriot Pin.
Lisa Zilloux
Lisa started off as a District Captain, enthusiastic to help restore our Constitution. She worked hard and was rewarded with the position of Regional Captain. When the team was left without leadership, Lisa stepped right up and took on the grassroots responsibilities. She’s been a great help to Lois and I.
Jim McDonnell
Jim recently joined our team, and he hit the ground running. He is always willing to step up and help out, no matter what is asked of him. His enthusiasm is infectious, and his dedication to the cause has been nothing short of phenomenal.
