Have you heard people stating they are afraid to support a Convention of States because they don't want their gun rights taken away?
Have no fear, friend, guns are not not on the COS resolution!
Ask those concerned these 3 questions:
1.Does imposing fiscal restraints on the federal government take away your gun rights? No
2.Does limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government take away your gun rights? No
3. Does term limits on Congress and federal officials take away your gun rights? No
These 3 topics on HCR 1 are the only topics legally allowed to be discussed at this amendment proposing convention, once 34 states pass them in their state legislatures. Nine-teen have already done so!
What about theoretically?
To clarify, if 34 states gave Congress an Article V application to get rid of the Second Amendment, an Article V proposal amendment convention could be called by Congress. Then 38 states would have to vote "yes" once their proposal left convention in order to get rid of the Second Amendment or amend it in some way.
Since about half of our states already have a carry law, many of those allow carrying into the state houses, it is UNLIKELY that 34 states will submit an application to repeal the Second Amendment.
The other fail safe to remember is, can you name 13 states that would vote "no" against it?
