Ever since I was a little girl, I've been fascinated with the Founding Fathers: Patrick Henry, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, George Mason.
One of my favorite things about living in Virginia is that I get to literally walk in their footsteps as I learn what inspired them to liberty.
I've learned that the problems of their day sound a lot like the troubles I hear coming from Washington, D.C., today.
The federal leviathan is back, and it's bigger than ever. With the national debt now at $22 trillion, what can I possibly do?
Then I learned that the Founding Fathers gave us the key to preserve the Constitution.
Thus I became a volunteer with the Convention of States Project to teach others how at the Constitutional Convention, George Mason reminded his fellow delegates that there needed to be a provision in Article V of the Constitution to allow We the People to propose amendments to the Constitution when Congress won't rein in their own power.
There was unanimous agreement.
I am now walking in the footsteps of our Founding Fathers to do as they did: restore self-government. And I get to do so by using my talents in writing and working with social media.
