Weld County District Captain is Actively Seeking New Supporters

Published in Blog on December 10, 2022 by Vivian Garcia

Around the table, left to right: Sal Celauro, Cherrie Brown, Steve Brown, Wayne Walvoord, Paul Newman, Mark Farmer, Art Sickler, Valerie Dutcher and Robert Dutcher.

Wayne Walvoord, District Captain in the Weld County area (House District 48), hosted his fourth Meet and Greet in Brighton on December 4th at Spicy Tacos.

These meetings are beneficial connections for volunteers who usually gather through online meetings and phone calls.  Technology makes it so convenient to network but there's nothing like seeing each other in person and spending time with each other, talking about what we're concerned about, including strengthening the rights of citizens.

Three new petition signers showed up and they're interested in volunteering.  We welcome them all and are working to get them connected to needs within COS that will interest them.

Grassroots requires willing participants and time to grow and get really good at organizing.  It also requires diligence and hope. Our resolve doesn't start and stop with elections.

We have a lot of opportunities to volunteer in 2023.  The first and biggest is meeting us at the State Capitol on Monday morning, January 9th, day one of the Regular Session of the State General Assembly to hand out our newsletter and be present and branded in Convention of States for the new legislators being sworn into office.

We also need District Captains to coordinate events and gather petitions in districts all across the state.

We need everybody getting involved in writing to their state House Reps and state Senators in their own districts and educating them about Convention of States and Article V.

You're always welcome to request viewing courses on COS University and get caught up on the specifics of our resolution.  You will be more comfortable with understanding what Convention of States is actually doing and how much work has already been done across most states in our nation.

We're grateful for District Captains like Wayne and all of our volunteers in Colorado.  Thank you for your time and effort and there's more to come in 2023.

To get involved, sign our petition and volunteer.
