As a devoutly Christian man and a COS leader in Ohio, I Steve Jones recommend that Sunday, September 15th 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT be set aside as a day of fasting and prayer together via Zoom for our nation, our state and our COS project.
I echo the sentiments of Benjamin Franklin, "Sir, in the sacred writings that, 'except the Lord build they labor in vain that build it.'"
I also firmly believe that without [H]is concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel.” We simply cannot withstand the attacks by the evil one apart from divine intervention.
September 15 also marks Article V Day, which, according to Madison's notes, was the very day George Mason insisted that the states have authority to call for conventions. Mason explained that an oppressive Congress would never agree to propose amendments necessary to restrain a rogue, tyrannical legislature. Constitution Day soon follows on September 17.
