They are extending their executive authority and doing things outside of their purview. Who are they? Both Democrats and Republicans - whoever is currently running the White House.
Former Sen. Rick Santorum said during a hearing on the COS Resolution that the power build-up in Washington sent him over the edge for one reason: he saw it in both parties.
"You hear 'authoritarianism' all the time, now from both parties. And there's truth in it," Santorum admitted. "So I speak to both parties when I say, don't you want the opportunity to be able to stop an authoritarian type presidency from happening by pulling some of this authority out of Washington and putting it back into the hands of where our Founders intended?"
The vast majority of Americans are upset and stressed at the division in our nation, feeling helpless and powerless to change the current course.
As a senior advisor at Convention of States, Santorum asked legislators to use their power to rein in Washington. Congress has become incapable of governing, resulting in an accumulation of power within the presidency.
"I think this is a tremendous opportunity and you are the fail-safe. You here in the state legislature."
