Washington's Obsession with Cocaine

Published in Blog on May 20, 2024 by robert bonhag

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) gave SRI International $2.3 million of taxpayer money to inject beagle puppies with cocaine. According to the White Coat Waste Project (WCW), 6-month-old beagle puppies were injected with cocaine again and again for months along with an ‘experimental compound’ to see how the two drugs interacted.

The irony is that SRI International does not have the required logistics for the study, so after cutting part of the budget, it gave the project to Charles River Laboratories, the same organization that injected monkeys with Ebola, tuberculosis, and other deadly viruses.

There are two pertinent questions for which Washington should be held responsible:

(1) Why is it wasting public money on such useless research?

(2) Why are they injecting dangerous drugs into innocent and speechless animals?

Instead of fighting drug trafficking, the Feds wasted $2.3 million of your money to get the puppies high.

Stay tuned to our blogs to learn more about how your government is frittering away your money.
