Congress, the Unscrupulous Runaway Convention
Jim MacDonald, COS Tennessee Volunteer

Millions of Americans are sending petitions to their respective state legislators. For many reasons, people are frustrated with the actions of our government. Regardless of whom we elect to office, the interest of the people is rarely their priority.

In 2012 the Tea Party movement emerged and appeared to have energized the conservative base to elect a new group of congressional leadership. Unfortunately, as time went on, the expected transformation never occurred, and before long, it was business as usual. Continue reading.

Challenge Coin Awarded to John Taylor, Grassroots Coordinator
Rev. Lyle Hill, COS Tennessee State Director

On August 29, 2020, the Convention of States Tennessee leadership team was honored to be joined by Convention of States Co-Founder Mark Meckler via a Zoom video conference for our state strategy meeting.

John Taylor, Tn GRC

Mark was welcomed by the state leaders and volunteers in attendance with the singing of “America.”

He discussed why the grassroots are so important to him and our future, and the importance of equipping ourselves with the tools available to be effective activists. He congratulated Tennessee on protecting our passed resolution and winning against a rescission attempt.

Mark addressed the importance of protecting the power and momentum we have by participating in elections and preparing a ratification army once we get to a convention. Continue reading.

The Bible and Politics
Toni Clay, COS Tennessee State Co-Director

The Bible is likely the most political book in the history of mankind.

It gives the instruction and structure for leaders, communities, and nations to live peaceably with one another before God. Politics was born of a need to implement that framework, not to be divorced from it.

Godly men lead in godly ways, as their counterparts lead in ungodly ways. Unlike ancient Rome, we do not have a Caesar. God has blessed us with a representative government. We cannot expect godly representatives if we don't care enough to engage in the choosing of them.

This is not about replacing God's rule with man's. Voting is about doing everything within your power to install men and women who fear God and understand they do not rule you. They represent you. And that God rules us both. Vote, so that you may live peaceably with all men.

Boots on the Ground for Freedom

Patriots Anthony Irvine, Ron Steiger, Dwayne Bledsoe, John Crum, and Rev. Lyle hill attended a Toy and Hobby show Saturday, September 19. It was sponsored by Rolling Thunder.

Our team had a chance to collect petitions and educate many about COS, Article V, and the Constitution.
