Over a dozen COS Texas leaders from southeast Texas met at a Chili's restaurant in Houston on March 10 for training and mobilization.
Texas, being a large state, is divided into 13 regions, and there were COS volunteers attending from three of these regions, including the towns of Conroe, Cypress, Brazoria, Galveston, and LaPorte, as well as Houston.
Regional Captains and District Captains gave instructions on how to put together COS presentations, including ideas for structuring the material and a "call to action" to mobilize the audience.
State Director Paul Hodson discussed the fundamental importance of bulding the grassroots army. Don Pollock, a Regional Captain who organized the meeting, updated the attendees on plans for the coming year and encouraged them to find opportunties to publicize COS through booths at area events.
The Houston volunteers agreed the the get-together was very helpful and hope to have more meetings in the coming months.
