When is the last time you were angry? Passionately angry: angry enough to demonstrate, call your congressperson, write a poignant letter, or boycott something? If it has been more than a couple days, you are overdue.
We are becoming desensitized to the crumbling of our values, our backwards society and rudeness. We seem to be bombarded with arguments and changes that seem surreal: sanctuary cities that offer no sanctuary when forced to do so; attacks on friends and neighbors because they support a different political view, unconstitutional gun grabs; criminals being lauded as suppressed and unfortunate instead of bad characters.
Crime is talked about nonchalantly, like we are supposed to simply accept that our neighborhoods, cars, homes, families are all pawns in this new world of being tolerant while criminals become more aggressive and dangerous.
Recently, in our upscale neighborhood, my neighbor said her car had been broken into for the THIRD time. It took my gasp and outrage to wake her from her fugue.
In June alone, the Border Patrol seized 2,100 pounds of Fentanyl. That’s enough to kill every American. Read that again.
Our President and his cabinet continue to fabricate stories of how the border is secure. So far this year, an average of 2,427 pounds per month have been seized at our border. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, Fentanyl is involved in more deaths of Americans than any other cause of death. Statistics show it is pouring across our southern border.
Along with the drugs comes human trafficking. Programs that worked before, like Remain in Mexico are lauded as suppressive and cruel. Somehow it’s better to subject children to becoming cartel slaves?
Not angry yet? Have you been to the gas pump or the grocery lately? And the dollar? Your wallet should feel lighter, since you've lost at least 20% of the value.
It’s become acceptable to watch things we have worked hard for be devalued and trashed, and we shrink from being attacked for saying it’s not right.
Keep in mind, while this is happening, our so-called representatives are so busy investigating and impeaching each other, voting on dress codes, and correcting pronouns that they fail to actually do the people’s work. The shenanigans in Washington DC rival a grade school playground with a far larger price tag attached to the damage being done. Pride, decorum and work ethic are long gone, replaced by rampant corruption.
It's time to be angry. It’s time for every single one of us to do something.
The good news is that there are plenty of things we can do. We have proven that boycotts work. Ask the corporate boards at Budweiser’s parent Anheuser-Busch and the shareholders of Target.
While they don’t show it, our representatives still care about our opinions. Their jobs depend on our votes. Call, text, email, write and let them know how you want them to act and vote.
The easiest way to feel hope and become educated is to join a band of fellow patriots and volunteer for the Convention of States movement. Sign the petition supporting the movement to curb government overreach, enact term limits and control fiscal spending—by using Article V of the Constitution.
Trade in anger for action. Join a group of like-minded proud Americans who believe this country is worth saving, that the middle class is worth protecting and that we the people are what make this nation great.
