The Tara Higgins Hill story

Published in Blog on June 17, 2020 by Nancy Suits

Tara Higgins Hill's story is about her arrest for the right to peacefully hold a sign "we are free" on a closed Miami beach.

Tara is the guest on this podcast with her attorney to explain what happened and what we can do to help them.

This is the June 2020, Mark Meckler Podcast link.

The police have discretion and the incident on Miami Beach delves into the "Injustice system."  Common Sense dictates to drop the charges. You should listen to the podcast because this could happen to you.

We the People of Florida should take a moment to do something to help Tara. Who wants to do one thing today that might save someone else from overly aggressive policing in Florida? We need the charges dropped.

1. Mail, email, or Facebook message the District Attorney in Dade County: Katherine Rundle.

2. Post a message on Facebook to FL Civil Rights Coalition story.

3. Send a donation to the legal defense fund

This guy is allowed on the beach every day.

Yet this guy is allowed on the beach every day! Raven Run's Robert "Raven" Kraft is reportedly the only person that has been permitted by the city of Miami Beach to enter and use the beach since its closure.

Allowing only one American to exercise inalienable rights because he is a celebrity--while arresting other citizens for going to the beach--is beyond arbitrary. It's also unconstitutional.

That is why we are asking the Office of the State Attorney and Katherine Fernandez Rundle to drop all charges against Tara Higgins, Arthur Johnson, and Kimberlee Falkenstine who were arrested on May 23 for simply entering the beach to exercise their constitutional rights.

"While the Miami-Dade State Attorney's office remains closed to date and cannot be reached by telephone, both Katherine Fernandez Rundle, as well as the Mayor of Miami-Dade County recently posted on Twitter claiming that they support peaceful protestors. If that's true, why haven't the charges filed by the Miami-Dade State Attorney against Tara Higgins, Arthur Johnson or Kimberlee Falkenstine—who were arrested for peacefully exercising First Amendment rights at Miami Beach during Memorial Day weekend—been dropped? Moreover, why were they arrested in the first place?"  ( from the Florida Civil Rights Coalition FaceBook post)
