The Public Interest Institute in Iowa endorses the Convention of States Project

Published in Blog on July 17, 2017 by Convention Of States Project

PURCELLVILLE, Va.Dec. 1, 2014 -- The Convention of States Project announces the endorsement of the Public Interest Institute in Iowa.

"The Public Interest Institute's (PII) endorsement of the Convention of States Project is to further a relationship built on the mutual goal of limiting the power of the current federal leviathan," stated Dr. Don Racheter, Chief Operating Officer of the Public Interest Institute.

"We are beyond an overzealous government and the recent successes of the mid-term elections prove that Americans intrinsically believe that smaller government and a free-enterprise system will spur economic growth, entrepreneurial creativity and more engaged citizens."

"We appreciate the endorsement from the Public Interest Institute because they are on the front lines of freedom for Iowans," said Mark Meckler, President of Citizens for Self-Governance and Co-founder of the Convention of States Project. "Americans want practical alternatives and common sense solutions for approaching the challenges facing our Nation. PII gives a forum to the voices of Iowans that connects citizen-driven solutions to policy makers in the state. That leadership is exactly what America's Founders intended with a government by, of and for the people."

The Public Interest Institute is an independent, non-profit organization. PII conducts research on principles and methods to promote and encourage human rights, economic freedom, economic growth, and the creation of jobs in Iowa. Research issues include limiting government spending and privatization of government services. To learn more visit www.LimitedGovernment.org.

The Convention of States Project currently has organized leadership in 43 states around the country, including thousands of volunteers committed to stopping the federal government's abuse of power. Three Article V applications have already been passed in Alaska,Florida and Georgia. For more information visit www.ConventionofStates.com.
