It is written in the Holy Scriptures:
“Then Christ told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
“For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!’”
And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18: 1-8.
We pray that there will always be faith found on the earth, for without faith, and the biblical principles upon which America was built, there can be no freedom. God will not bless any nation that rejects Him, whether that rejection is active or passive.
There is a great amount of active rejection of God to be seen in modern-day America, especially amongst the elite ruling classes of government and popular culture. However, there is an equal or arguably greater amount of passive rejection found as well.
Legislators who refuse to uphold their constitutional oath, law enforcement that refuses to uphold the rule of law, churches that refuse to condemn or stand up to the evil attacks against their faith, teachers who don’t teach the truth, parents who don’t protect their children, and citizens who see the erosion of America and choose to ignore it are all examples of passive rejection of what is good.
God does not call his people to be inactive, compliant doormats, watching the devil work his will in the world like an audience viewing a violent horror film.
“Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well-fed,’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2: 14-17.
Nor does he wish us to be avoid conflict and hostility if it means surrendering to evil.
“Like a muddied spring or a polluted pool is a righteous man who gives way to the wicked.” Proverbs 25:26.
Nor to be collaborative and unified with that evil.
“Should you help the wicked, and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, the wrath of the Lord is upon you!” 2 Chronicles 19:2.
We are called to love our enemies, but that does not mean condoning and ignoring their unrepentant sin, or even worse, participating in it because we’re told it wouldn’t be loving and understanding not to.
America was founded, built, and is being held together by those who live their faith; who reject the temptations of apathy, laziness, and self-centeredness, and resist the forces of evil whenever and wherever they are found, even if such resistance seems foolhardy and futile.
“Duty is ours. Results are God’s.” -John Quincy Adams, when asked why he continued to push for abolition in Congress-
This focus on the advancement of the kingdom of God rather than on self and worldly things can be found in countless individuals throughout history, but one of the greatest examples has to be William Wilberforce.
Wilberforce was the stalwart member of Parliament who ended the slave trade in Great Britain. What many don’t know is that it took him over twenty years to do so, battling relentless, hard-hearted opposition all the way, and he had to bring about a major cultural shift to do so.
In Wilberforce’s time, as written in Eric Metaxas’ Amazing Grace, the ways of God were not exactly on-trend. There was still a general acknowledgement of faith from the government, as there is now, but it was always done with a bow of the head and a wink of the eye, as if to say, “we’re only doing this because it’s traditional.”
William Wilberforce, however, had a deep, personal belief in God. He was a deeply caring individual, not to mention an indefatigable statesman. He had to be, for at first, he was part of a very small but determined minority. He and his fellow abolitionists, through persistence, cleverness, and faith, not only ended the abominable slave trade, but triggered a Christian revival in Britain.
That same thing seems to be happening in America today. More than ever, Americans are eager to rediscover biblical principles and the foundations of truth that led to our nation’s creation.
“This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16.
We know the way. We know the ancient paths, and we will walk them, no matter how many stones the enemy throws at us. In the end, they are only pebbles tossed by fools. Both will soon be but a memory; a story of warning to tell our children when we have reclaimed our nation and restored the blessings of liberty given by Almighty God.
This is our duty: to fight for our country, because it is a gift from God. He gave such wisdom to the Founding Fathers that they drafted the greatest form of government ever conceived in human history, and the most powerful tool within that government is Article V!
Our detractors can throw all the stones they want at us, but we will continue to walk the righteous path of the Constitution, because it is the only path to restore our Republic. Just as William Wilberforce did for twenty years, we will continue to present our resolution to the state legislatures until a convention of states is finally called!
We have a spirit of hope, not of fear, (2 Timothy 1:17), and encourage others to have the same. The Lord will never fail to bless those who put their faith in Him and live it out in their lives, nor will He fail to judge those who are compliant and silent in the face of evil.
“God ‘will repay each person according to what they have done.’ To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.” Romans 2: 6-7.
By the will of God, step by step, signature by signature, discussion by discussion and legislator by legislator, we will reach the 34-state mark and the convention will be called. Amendments for term limits, fiscal restraint, and overreach limitations will be passed, and we will preserve the Constitution of the United States of America!
