History teaches us that the framers wrote the “Declaration of Independence'' and ultimately the “U.S. Constitution'' because they refused to submit their God-given inalienable rights to an oppressive centralized government. The framers knew human nature, and it was self-evident to them, people with a lust for power would gradually migrate into government and eventually infringe upon those rights because we are imperfect beings.
Gov. Newsome is precisely why the Framers put the Convention of States method to propose amendments to the Constitution in Article V. The Framers also expected us to do our duty to remain informed, engaged, and self-governing. Unfortunately for far too long, many have abdicated that responsibility.
How many know the Newsome family history? Their ties to other political dynasties? Newsom’s aunt, Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s history?
These are two political dynasties the Framers prepared for and compared to them the world-famous corrupt political machines in Chicago and Tammany Hall in New York are petty thieves.
The Newsome's are one of the four prominent San Francisco families that have dominated politics in the Bay Area for the past century; the other three - Brown, Pelosi, and Gettys. The ties are deep and Byzantine.
Speaker Pelosi is from a prominent east coast political dynasty; her maiden name is D’Alesandro. Pelosi’s father Thomas D’Alesandro Jr. and her brother Thomas D’Alesandro III are former mayors of the City of Baltimore.
The D’Alesandro family ruled Baltimore for well over 50 years. On a side note, isn’t it interesting that the FBI chose January 6, 2021 (does that day ring a bell?) to release the files on “Big Tommy” D’Alesandro?
What do these four cities, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Baltimore have in common? They are all major seaports; the money and goods that flow through these cities are the seeds of corruption that imperfect humans can’t help but be tempted by.
With the advance of technology, the world has grown smaller; 100 years ago, these dynasties were local. In today’s world, we can see these dynasties are merging to become an even more significant threat to our freedom.
What is the vehicle that is allowing this amalgamation? Politics.
The abuse of power, corruption, and two-tier justice system we have witnessed is a direct result of these dynasties doing exactly what the Framers predicted they would do - using politics to gain power and legitimize their actions.
Uniting as our founders did, and using the Article V Convention of States process they gave us is the only peaceful way to restore our government to its proper place. The Framers had just fought a violent revolution to regain their freedom, they wrote Article V so we wouldn’t have to.
