New Volunteer Drive:

Georgia and Tennessee have challenged each other to see which state can recruit the most COS Volunteers between September 1st and December 31st. This is the first time a challenge like this has been done, and amazingly, the results are tied after the first month.

Tony Moore (GA) and Marcy Brooks (TN), both Grass Roots Coordinators, are hosting “New Volunteer” Zoom meetings each Wednesday night at 8 pm to inspire and educate new volunteers about COS.

Everyone has skills in things they enjoy doing. COS needs skills in every area you can imagine. You have already signed the Petition and are a member of COS. If you have been thinking about becoming more active in your community, consider advancing that thru your COS membership. It’s a great cause and a great family of people.

Contact Tony Moore today. You’ll be glad you did.

Did You Know:

On September 25, 1789, 12 amendments to the Constitution were proposed, 10 of which later became the Bill of Rights.

Amendment 3

No soldier shall, in time of peace, be quartered in any house without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

The Third Amendment is important because it gives American citizens the right to say to the government, "military personnel can’t move into my home, sleep in my bed, eat my food, watch my TV, or park a tank in my driveway, without my permission."

Never can citizens be forced to house military personnel in times of peace, and it requires the process to be “prescribed by law” in times of war.

This Month's Events:

Odum Georgia

Saturday October 2nd was the 42nd annual Odum Homecoming Day celebration in Odum. Region 1 and District 178 had a booth there. Odum is a small community in Southeast Georgia. Interest in the Convention of States is high in that area and they obtained over 20 petition signatures and 11 new volunteers.

We enjoyed the small-town festivities immensely and plan to be at Odum again next year. The photos show Don Gardner, RC Region 1, Ana Vergara, DCT Region1, and Sharon Fuhrman, DC District 178 talking to interested patriots.

Words of Wisdom:

"Good government generally begins in the family, and if the moral character of a people once degenerate, their political character must soon follow." - Elias Boudinot, a founding father and President of the continental congress(1782-83)
