Susie has a problem.
Susie heroically served her country and the State of Missouri in the Armed Forces. Unfortunately, her tours of duty have caused ongoing medical issues.
The good news is, the federal government and the State of Missouri have agencies whose purposes are to serve our veterans.
The bad news? These agencies are sometimes challenging to navigate. Susie needs advice and possibly a helping hand.
Susie is also an engaged citizen and stays involved in her state government. One of the ways she does this is through a personal relationship with her state representative. Susie decides to contact her state representative to help her with the situation.
In the course of their conversation, Susie shares details that are very personal in nature. She is comfortable doing this, because she trusts her representative will keep these personal details in confidence. Her legislator agrees to keep their conversation confidential and to help Susie access the resources she has earned.
If passed, Amendment 1 would change all that. Amendment 1 would make all communication between constituents and state legislators a matter of public record.
That means the personal information that Susie shared with her state representative in confidence would be there for all to see. In today's information age, would you want even more of your personal details in the public square?
Share this information with your friends and family. Your fellow Missourians are counting on you to help defeat this proposal that will adversely affect our state.
Turnout is critical to protect our state and our republic. We cannot allow Amendment 1 to pass. Please remember to vote on November 6.
Vote NO on Amendment 1, the Clean Missouri Act.
