The Obama administration has overseen the creation of 20,642 new regulations since 2009, according to the Daily Signal.
Those regulations have cost American consumers and businesses $100 billion annually and $22 billion last year. There are currently an additional 2,000 new rules in the pipeline.
More regulation means only one thing: less liberty. The federal government doesn’t believe the American people can be trusted. Everyday Americans, according to D.C., aren’t capable of making decisions that promote the earth’s flourishing, provide for the health care needs of their families, or increase their financial stability. An ever-increasing slate of regulations is needed to keep We the People in line and ensure they conform to the will of the “elite” in D.C.
The United States has always been the land of the free, and there’s only so much over-regulation the American people can take before they begin to fight back.
And that’s exactly what they’re doing through the Article V Convention of States movement. A Convention of States can propose constitutional amendments that actually shrink the jurisdiction of the federal government. This means that D.C. will be limited to a narrow scope of topics they are permitted to regulate. Congress will never act. It’s up to the people to destroy the regulatory leviathan in Washington.
