Convention of States leaders from across Texas met at the capitol in Austin on April 7 for the Grassroots Leadership Tour. This meeting was held in the same auditorium where we celebrated passage of our resolution, so it brought back great memories.
COS Texas Co-Directors Tamara Colbert and Paul Hodson gave a presentation called, “Texas Leads,” illustrating the bigger picture for COS: “Building an engaged grassroots army of self-governing activists.”
Regional Captain Shelby Williams gave a Leadership Overview. Texas has a goal of placing one Regional Captain for every Senate District. Regional Captain and Veterans Coalition Director Art Bedford spoke on the Veterans Coalition.
Several of our Leadership Team received the coveted COS Challenge Coin. Recipients were Bill Ely, State Grassroots Coordinator; Sharon Correll, State Communications Director; and Sammi Hammers, District Captain for HD 128 and volunteer extraordinaire!

It had been many months since the last large meeting of Texas volunteers, so it was especially great to see old friends and fellow patriots. We hope to see you at a future stop on the Grassroots Leadership Tour!
