Step aside, Academy Awards. Introducing The Wingies.

Published in Blog on March 11, 2024 by Article V Patriot

The morning after the Academy Awards is always the worst part. Today’s the day when the media mulls endlessly over every (supposedly) juicy detail about last night’s show, pretending we all care, for example, about Robert Downey Jr.’s “villainous” Ke Huy Quan snub or oddly serious analysis about the potential adverse side effects of “‘Barbie'-ish” filmmaking. (If you did not comprehend the second half of that last sentence, I commend you.) These are, tragically, the important issues of March 11, 2024.

Fortunately, for those of us who cannot stomach a fourth Jimmy Kimmel-hosted Oscars (and especially for those of us who couldn’t stomach the first one, either), there’s a new award show on the block.

Enter The Wingies.

Pardon the name — I assure you, we’re not speaking about buffalo wings or some young adult fantasy fiction novel — but this up-and-coming show, hosted by Max Spin, Ph.D., is poised to redefine the future of award shows in America, plus save democracy in the process. And honestly, who would want to watch Ryan Gosling frolic in a pink bedazzled suit when they could behold the spectacle of Steve Bannon, David Barton, Ben Shapiro, and Mark Meckler duking it out for the coveted “Best Podcaster on a Scary Faith-Based Podcast” Award? That’s what I thought, no one.

So, check out last night's other show to discover if Mark Meckler and his co-host Rita Peters walked away with a clean sweep of this year’s awards or if they were thwarted by some other equally radical, religious right-winger who wants to rewrite our Constitution, too. Tune in below to find out!
