Show me your guns!

Published in Blog on September 13, 2019 by Sarah Peloquin

Come one, come all to the 2019 Gun & Collectibles Show at the Marquette County Fairgrounds.

And I’m not talking biceps, people, although you’re going to need those to tote some of these weapons.

Sure as shooting, vendors are bringing their best handguns, rifles, and miscellaneous accessories for display on at least 70 tables.

Talk about packing heat.

From Friday, September 27, from Noon to 7:00 p.m., to Saturday, September 28th, 9 am to 5 pm, Westfield Lions Club hosts the 16th Annual show and Convention of States is all about those guns.

Or rather, we’re all about the freedom to keep and bear our arms. Okay, and we’re also all about those guns.

While we're on the topic, any recommendations for a first-time gun buyer looking at a handgun that’ll fit in an 8x8 purse?

Side note, did you know that the original interpretation of the Constitution’s Second Amendment did not prohibit the ownership of cannons? While some states now deny this particular form of artillery, especially in towns where the noise factor might tend to get on the neighbor’s nerves, our federal government is not allowed to regulate or inhibit private ownership of these heavy hitters. Sweet, right?

If you’re in the area, come on down and don’t forget to stop by our COS table to chat with volunteers who are passionate about making sure these gun shows and the right to own said guns stay safe from the federal government and its increasing tendency toward its 1984 Big Brother persona.

With all the recent talk about increased regulations, background checks, and buyback programs, I decided to do a little digging of my own.

I’ve got to say, the background check on our federal government seems to have dug up quite a long history of violence and some mental instability, so I’m gonna pass on the whole buyback thing and head straight for the gun show.

Who’s with me?

In all seriousness though, this year’s show promises a great turnout, so come on down. It’ll give you a whole new meaning for the phrase “pumping iron,” and you might just walk away with a new method of protecting your life, liberties, and family...

Or bagging that thirty point buck you've been watching this year.
