SE Pennsylvania Monthly Meetings at Church on the Mall is growing stronger!

SE Pennsylvania Monthly Meetings at Church on the Mall is growing stronger!

Searching for answers to the pressing problems our country is facing, in April 2021, I signed up to be a Convention of States District Captain in Philadelphia. Over the summer, taking COS trainings and learning about CitizenBuilder, the software tool, I planned the first meeting for the District at the Church on the Mall in Plymouth Meeting PA.

The meeting was scheduled for the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm. I planned and networked, called, and reached out to people, hoping that the first meeting would be a success, and that fellow patriots would attend.

That Wednesday, I was glued to the news again hoping that the destructive hurricane hammering Louisiana would, by some magic, pass by the Philadelphia and Montgomery County areas. I prayed that the hurricane predicted to hit the Philadelphia area at the time of the scheduled meeting at 6:30 pm, would veer in another direction perhaps out to sea. The news said hurricane Ida was racing up the East Coast heading towards Philadelphia and the Plymouth Meeting area, and the Church on the Mall.

It was a nail biter, but early in the day, the sun was still out. I was optimistic. Besides, I was heading to the Church for the first COS District meeting no matter what the news reported. As the sun was eclipsed by dark clouds, I left my house early wanting to beat the rain, fielding calls, telling people to stay home. I had to show up. What if someone came and I wasn’t there? People texted and phoned, and I reiterated, “stay home. It looks like it is getting bad out there and predicted to get worse.”

The phone rang again. It was a fellow patriot who said he was on his way. “Where are you?” I asked.  “On Route 309, it is pretty bad out here, barely passable, but I am close.”

I waited at entrance 3 outside the Church on the Mall and met this very brave soul who had ventured through the storm, the flooding in the streets to Church on the Mall. A few minutes before he arrived the lights in the entire mall went out, alarms shrieked now out of synch and kilter.

We left the Church, drove around in the downpour, windshield wipers unable to keep up with the massive soaking. We found the only restaurant in the mall that still had its lights on. We had a lovely time in a festive atmosphere. What a joy talking to a fellow patriot, a like-minded person about the problems facing our country!

In between September and October, the position of Grassroots Coordinator SE Pennsylvania opened and I applied. In October, on the first Wednesday of the month our next COS SE PA meeting, the grassroots position I was now assigned to was one week old. Thirteen people from the district came to what was the first meeting. I announced my new volunteer role with Convention of States hoping someone would soon be stepping up taking on the position of District Captain.

Optimistic about the October turnout of thirteen people, I rented the Church on the Mall Chapel that holds 200 people for the next meeting. In November 43 people attended and on December 1st, the third meeting at Church on the Mall there were 47 patriots who came to hear about Article V and the work Convention of States is doing to take back our country! In just a few short months we were moving along with many volunteers helping the efforts.

At the monthly meeting, we had Dunkin donuts and donut holes brought to the meeting by a new District Captain. Another volunteer printed business cards with Church on the Mall contact information and handled the raffling of Convention of States T-shirts bought at the COS store. We had a sound system and a projector brought to the meeting by a new State Information Tech volunteer. We were able to show a COS video to the participants explaining Convention of States and Article V. By the way, the next day after the event, someone phoned to say how much they appreciated the COS message and the work we are all doing, and how organized the event was!

What a night! Thanks to all of you and to everyone who made this event fun and exciting!

People are attending the Convention of States SE PA monthly meeting and it is growing. Citizens are looking for answers to the many problems our country is facing. We all know the problems. The answer lies in Convention of States, teaching self-governance, and taking back our country bringing the power back to the people and to the States where it belongs.
