CALL TO ACTION - ARIZONA!
This week, the Arizona Legislature submitted a Senate Concurrent Resolution calling for the rescission of the 2017 Article V Convention Application.
Three Republicans and six Democrats sponsored this Concurrent Resolution from both the Senate and the House, including Senator David Farnsworth, DESPITE the fact that he voted in SUPPORT of the COS resolution in 2017.
SCR1039 seeks to rescind the Convention of States Article V Resolution that passed in 2017. The committee is proposing it as a Concurrent Resolution, which means that members of both houses support it, and it does not require the approval of the Governor. The Resolution does not have the force of law but rather regulates the internal affairs of the Legislature that adopted it.
What does this mean? The hard work we did in 2017, and every year since, to maintain our Article V Application in the memorials of our US Congress will be undone by nay-sayers and those who would like the government to keep doing business as usual.
Now is the time for us to take a stand to defend the COS Application and for YOU to have a say in this matter!
Please call the members of the Senate Committee and tell them to KILL SCR1039 before it goes too far!
If SCR1039 passes, Arizona will no longer be one of the 19 states calling for an Article V Convention to propose amendments to reduce the size and scope of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, and place term limits on all federal officials and members of Congress.
It is time that We The People take a stand to protect the COS Application, which is supported by over 70,746 citizens in Arizona.
