Rise Above the Noise: 6 Books That Connect the Dots and Illustrate the Importance of the Convention of States Mission

Published in Uncategorized on November 15, 2021 by Jeff Groh

It’s easy to get bogged down in the noise of the 24-hour news cycle. Election integrity and medical freedom, for instance, are indeed important issues. But don’t miss the overarching, longer-term themes that threaten individual freedoms.

Consider these three, all seemingly coming into focus simultaneously as existential threats: Marxism, Globalism and China. What do they have in common? Our founding principal’s set forth in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S Constitution are obstacles.

Many are just waking up to the threat of Marxism. That’s because today’s Marxists are not using the same tactics as Lenin and Stalin. Rather than a frontal assault through revolution, they have been working stealthily for decades. But now, no longer hiding their true agenda.

The Marxist BLM organization, erasing history, the 1619 Project, calls for universal income, convincing everyone that they are a victim, CRT in the schools, open borders, “while fragility”, the pandemic, and out-of-control federal debt are just a few of the ways today’s Marxists are dividing us to sow chaos in order to remake society in their image.

Soon those who have caused the coming crisis will then ask for more power to solve the problems they created. Is it any wonder that progressives like Bernie Sanders agitate for free college education? The universities have been coopted by Marxists and brainwashing an entire generation.

Mark Levin’s new book, “American Marxism” is a good place to start for a historical perspective. Erwin Lutzer’s “We Will Not Be Silenced: Responding Courageously to Our Culture’s Assault on Christianity” addresses cultural Marxism from a Judeo-Christian perspective. Both help connect dots and allow you to see the bigger picture.

Globalism is a second threat. While many think of globalism in terms of economic interdependence, it is much more. It is an attack on national sovereignty and individual freedoms. It is grounded in “technocracy” and the concept that only a global elite can save us from ourselves. Think “one world order”.

A resource is “Technocracy: The Hard Road to World Order” by Patrick Wood.

The UN and other international organizations have been at work creating the framework to replace capitalism as the economic model. Look at Agenda 21 revealed in 1992, and then subsequent policies of Sustainable Development, 2030 Agenda, the Paris Climate Accords and the New Urban Agenda.

And of course, in the current administration, globalists dominate.

You think this does not affect you? Think again. In the US, there are over 400 Metropolitan Planning Organizations and 500 Councils of Government’s that are implementing these policies at the local level, bypassing duly elected officials and arguably unconstitutional.

Finally, there is China. The pandemic illustrated two glaring facts. First, China did not cooperate with determining the origin of the virus. What does that say? And our reliance on China for our manufactured goods is a clear threat.

In Clyde Prestowitz’s book, “The World Turned Upside Down: America, China, and the Struggle for Global Leadership”, you will understand the real threat China poses. Why? Because China is the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They are dedicated to restoring China to what they believe is their rightful position as The Middle Kingdom.

And we are helping them. Their entry into the WTO after the fall of the Soviet Union and multiple administrations incentivizing companies to move our manufacturing base to China was orchestrated by those who believed China would become a democracy. There was just one problem: the CCP.

All three of these threats seem to be coalescing at the same time. And maybe history is a guide.

In his 1997 book, “The Fourth Turning”, William Strauss and Neil Howe proposed a concept that history consists of four “turnings”, similar to seasons of the year, and based on about an 80 to 100-year human life span. There is a Crisis followed by a High, Awakening, Unraveling, then into another Crisis. The last Crisis was the Depression/WWII. Going back, the Civil War and the Revolution follow similar cycles. As does history prior to our founding era.

Arguably we are in the next Crisis marked by the 2008 financial crisis and the pandemic. A second related book, “The Seventh Crisis: Why Millennials Must Re-establish Ordered Liberty” by Bob MacGuffie and Anthony Stark makes that point.

It is that last book by MacGuffie and Stark that provides hope. And ties into the overall mission of the Convention of States Project to build the largest conservative grassroots army ever seen and train citizen activists.

It is the concept of “ordered liberty” as described by the authors. That means relying on our founding concepts in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. The rule of law. It is how we will prevent Marxism, Globalism and China from destroying our freedoms.

An Article V Convention of States can address these problems head-on. By limiting the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government, a Convention of States can hamstring the efforts of those who would use an all-powerful federal government to advance their Communist "utopia." It takes 34 states to call a Convention to propose these constitutional amendments, and 15 states are on board.

In the mean time, you have to get engaged at the local level. You have to pay attention. You have to get educated. Attend school board meetings, city council meetings and county commission meetings. Learn and teach the Constitution. Connect with other like-minded, freedom loving patriots and organizations sprouting up at the local level.

And resist the natural tendency to say “…this is so big…I cannot make a difference…” Focus on answering this question: Is it the right thing to do? That is what our Founder’s did and what we owe our kids. It is our duty.
