Powerful words spoken over our Convention of State mission could make an amazing transformation in our results in 2025.
Watch message HERE.
Ben Franklin defined resolution as:
“Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve.”
This is the season of resolutions. Many will be set. Few will be met.
Grandiose ideas and visions dreamt without an action plan=failure.
Weight goals are a common resolution. January is the best month for gym business increase and attendance. By March the attendance hovers back to normal. People either lose their ambition, get distracted or busy, or their muscles are too sore after the first week.
I read an article recently that encouraged setting a resolution that focused on replacing one poor habit with a good habit. Personally, one good habit that I have been lax in lately is gratitude. Which means this would replace grumbling.
Lately, I have been guilty of grumbling. Maybe since March of 2020, I recollect.
Grumbling, mumbling, murmuring, griping, and complaining are all futile and worthless. It brings us down and creates a negative attitude toward self and others.
High road vs Low road.
Praise vs Complain.
There is an old phrase: Praise and be Raised; Complain and Remain.
Maybe we are stuck because of the spirit that we remain in.
In a spirit of praise, our body, mind, and soul can rise up...even heal.
In Philippians 2:14, Paul tells us: Do all things without grumbling or disputing.
Instead of looking at a situation with dread and frustration, what if we find a light in that dim corner. For example: the last four years have been financially challenging–but we can be thankful for resources that are provided and if you are blessed to work from home, it is saving fuel and clothing expenses.
Many times my attitude deflates when I am speaking deflating words either aloud or under my breath.
Why do we get stuck in this circle?
Another old phrase is: “What we speak about, we bring about.”
This works in our work, our family, and our mission. One of the best things we can do for ourselves and others is to speak the truth aloud–God’s truth. His word is healing balm. It is the sword of truth. It cuts through the chaos of our world and our thoughts.
Isaiah 60:1 was my verse for 2024:
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.”
Changing the truth to read in the first person becomes power in our own mind and spirit.
Shifting Isaiah to first person becomes: Arise, SHINE, for my light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises on me.
2 Corinthians 9:8 is my verse for 2025:
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
In first person: God makes ALL grace abound to me, in ALL things, at ALL times, having ALL that I need=I abound in every good work.
Now let’s bring this power of speaking powerful words into our mission and goals:
Instead of grumbling, what if we spoke these words instead?
- My state team is committed to seeing an Article V convention pass in my state, free of sunset clauses.
- I am a dedicated leader who grows confidently in excellent character to grow my team.
- Our legislators are brilliant–discerning truth from lies.
- I listen to and support those around me.
- I encourage my team and teammates to lift everyone around them.
- I control how I respond to people and circumstances.
- I embrace change and rise to new opportunities.
- I am brilliant and I build excellence in all people around me.
- Our teams shine in their skills as servant leaders.
This year I Resolve to Praise in ALL situations and cast off that spirit of complaining.
How about you?
