While many Americans are disappointed by the results of national political races this year, there is still cause for hope.
The "blue wave" the Democrats had hoped for in state legislatures turned out to be more of a blue flush. The Democrats were unable to flip even a single state legislative chamber, and the GOP added both of New Hampshire's chambers along with Alaska's House of Representatives.
While many commentators have noted that this gives Republicans a huge edge in setting congressional districts, there is an even greater benefit to the result of the November 3 election: it makes it even more likely the states will call the first-ever Convention of States.
Convention of States supporters hail from both sides of the aisle, both among the grassroots and state legislators. But there's no denying that the limited-government goals of the Convention of States movement appeal more to Republican representatives than their colleagues in the Democratic party.
That's why, while we're happy to have the support of liberty-loving Americans from any party, we believe the last set of elections puts us in a great position to reach the 34-state threshold.
There's never been a better time to join the Convention of States movement! Our grassroots teams are operating in all 50 states, and we're always looking for patriots to join the cause.
When you join the Convention of States team, you'll be put in touch with other like-minded citizen-activists working to pass the Convention of States Resolution in their state legislature. Once 34 states pass this resolution, a Convention of States will be called, and states will meet to propose constitutional amendments that limit the size, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government.
We also have volunteer leadership positions available at both the state and local level. Click here to see all the ways you can help, or fill out the application below to join as a District Captain.
We look forward to working with you!
