LOBBY DAY AT THE STATE CAPITOL MARCH 20, 2024
California supporters and official volunteers with the Convention States California Team will meet at the State Capitol in Sacramento on Wednesday, March 20 for Lobby Day 2024.
Together we will visit legislators and meet their legislative staff. Our focused message is how the Founders of our republican democracy placed in Article V of the Constitution a mechanism for the States to stop Federal tyranny. With a Convention of States, reforms such as term limits, fiscal restraints, and curbing the power of federal agencies can be proposed, debated and if approved, sent back to the states for ratification.
These actions would re-establish state authority and self-determination. People in the states would experience greater liberty as district representatives, unshackled by federal mandates, would have more revenue and freedom to innovate solutions to local problems. A rebirth of the Founders’ vision for accountable, representative government would inspire self-governance, creativity, and economic expansion.

Convention of States is a national initiative operating in all fifty states. Grassroots supporters and volunteers from every single legislative district in the country have signed the Convention of States Petition. View the simulated Article V convention of states, held August 2, 2023, to see how the process works.
On Lobby Day, the volunteers will provide legislators with the information they need to appreciate their constituents’ support for an Article V Convention of States. The volunteers will receive training to understand and share the Convention of States plan. Because handouts will be provided, all who would like to visit legislators' offices must RSVP/Register to participate.
Participants will 1) gain training in grassroots activism at the state level, 2) experience interactions with state legislators or legislative staff, and 3) enjoy the satisfaction of making history in the Article V movement to restore the balance of power in government.
