Let’s be clear, the leadership over this past year from the Biden administration hasn’t been filled with top-tier decision making. From the plethora of executive orders in the first week, to the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, let us agree this country has seen more positive first year results from almost any other administration.
Let’s highlight reasons why this administration has very deservedly displayed the need for We the People to get behind an Article V, Convention of States to put an end to the federal government meddling in our lives.
In September 2021, this administration demanded many things surrounding vaccinations to attempt to curb the pandemic. Many mandates were obvious but one you may not remember is ordering the TSA (Transportation Safety Administration) to double fines on travelers who refuse to comply with mask mandates.
Under this administration, the borders have become complete chaos when several immigration policies were changed in 2021. First was the termination of contracts to construct the border wall. Then the cap on admitting refugees was increased from 15,000 under the Trump administration to 125,000 now. The US Customs and Border Patrol reported more than 1.7 million encounters in 2021, which is four times greater than 2020. It’s no wonder that fentanyl crossing our borders is contributing to the increase in overdoses across the country. Do you think the federal government is going to reimburse Texas residents the $3 billion allocated by Governor Abbott to finish the wall?
More recently the abysmal and feckless foreign policy continues to leave our allies broken and questioning the strength of our resolve. If over $80 billion worth of equipment left in the hands of the Taliban in Afghanistan and the invasion in Ukraine are the start of this administration, we should shudder at where we are heading. Imagine what the US could have done with the $2.75 billion sent to Ukraine if the leader of the free world held strong towards Russian aggression.
Inflation is up in large part due to bloated spending bills like “infrastructure” and Americans are feeling the strain every time they open their wallets. Day one cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline resulted in the loss of jobs and increased gas prices and the Russian war in Ukraine is exacerbating the pinch. The consumer price index rose to a 40-year high in January 2022 and the only action this administration is taking is making creative excuses.
You can do something to stop the federal overreach into our daily lives by supporting Article V Convention of States and we've made it easy for you to reach out to your state legislators in just a few clicks. It only takes 60 seconds!
