Now that the primary and runoff elections are complete, and we know the final candidates for the House and Senate seats across Alabama it’s time to educate yourself to ensure that you are an informed voter when the general election occurs in November.
For the most part, the voting records and platforms are known for the incumbents, with few expected to be faced with a competitive race. The challenge comes with getting a grasp on the platforms for the highest number of open seats for the Alabama state congress in recent history.
Between the House and Senate, candidates will be vying for over thirty seats which will lead to many new faces at the State House when the new legislative session begins. Unless you take the time to participate in townhalls, visit the candidate’s website or Facebook pages you may not have enough information to make an educated decision on whom to support.
For those who may be new voters to Alabama, once the election results are official in November, the winning candidate takes office and starts representing their districts.
