The following was written by State Director Chris Walker, as a Letter to the Editor recently published in The News and Advance.
So, we are the first 18 months of the Trump presidency. What has he accomplished? Has the economy improved? Well, yes. There are lots of jobs available and our 401(k)s are getting fatter.
Are there less federal regulations restricting our rights? Yes, again. Trump has rolled back many Obama executive orders and cut billions in red tape.
Did he deliver on tax cuts? Yup, that’s a lot of what is spurring the Trump economy.
How about term limits? Balancing the budget? Fiscal restraint? No, not really.
For the D.C. swamp to be drained, it’s going to take more than one man. It will require us to use the power of the states to rein in the federal government.
