Oklahoma's Dedicated Pros Achieve Great Success During "Rooster Days"

Published in Blog on September 13, 2021 by Tommy Jensen

During the four days of Oklahoma’s 90th consecutive “Rooster Days” festivities over Labor Day weekend, twelve highly motivated and dedicated COS Action Oklahoma patriots met thousands of their fellow citizens, and engaged in lively conversations about the mission of Convention of States and why our U.S. Constitution’s Article V amendment process is the only solution to correct the ills caused by our federal government.

“Rooster Days” attracted an estimated 40,000 people, and the COS team emphasized to our booth visitors the necessity and virtue of limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, imposing fiscal restraints, and placing term limits on federal officials. These positively delivered and enthusiastically received themes resulted in 448 new petition signatures, and commitments from many to become active members of our COS Action Oklahoma team.

State Director John Guinn noted that the event’s success was due to a great combination of efforts from COS National to provide materials for display and distribution to visitors, to the quality of our booth construction, tireless and committed teamwork, and patriotic attire all volunteers wore that attracted curious visitors. In fact, noted Guinn, “there were so many people at our booth, that some of the other vendors complained that no one could get to their booth to buy their wares.”

State Grassroots Coordinator Becky Wolfe commented that "everybody who volunteered showed-up, and stepped-up with specific goals in mind.” She admired the volunteer’s “courage of people who were not used to talking with people on freedom and liberty.” She singled-out the magnificent teamwork which made her “proud and inspired.” People “from all walks of life were standing in line to sign our petition. Even people with dogs!” Many young people stopped-by, signed our petition, and committed to future roles within our COS team.

Booth visitors included people from faraway Alaska and California, who expressed concerns for the future of our nation. An Alaskan guest was unaware their state had a COS reach there and also is a “passed state.” Becky Wolfe informed our visitor who their leadership is, and in return, obtained a new petitioner’s signature.

With such a positive result for COSA Oklahoma in this first membership drive and coordinated event, 2021-2022 will certainly be a year full of accomplishments and membership growth.
