Oklahoma Patriots Announce the 2023 State Capitol Rally

Published in Blog on January 22, 2023 by Tommy Jensen

After months of planning and coordination by our Convention of States Action Oklahoma team, we are proud to announce our annual State Capitol Rally will happen on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

To achieve our goals, COSA Oklahoma will make a series of road trips to visit communities and hold informational meetings to prepare folks for the rally.  We've got some exciting things planned and even have a conference room this year!

Here are the informational meeting locations:

  • Saturday, January 21: Atoka - County Library (1-2 pm) 279 East "A" St. Contact District Captain Edward Barnes (321) 356-7722 for questions.
  • Saturday, January 28: Tulsa - St Thomas Moore Catholic Church (1-2 pm) 2720 S 129th E Ave. Enter through the second entry on the south side. Contact District Captain Bill Rolph (636) 233-2681 or Jim Cunningham (918) 640-6700 for questions.
  • Friday, February 3: Edmond - Johnnies Charbroiled Grill (6:45-8:30) 33 E33rd Street. The Meeting Room is reserved. Johnnies has requested everyone participating to purchase a meal. Contact District Captain Lee Parker (405) 341-9663 for questions.

Why rally? The first session of the 59th Oklahoma State Legislature begins February 6 and ends May 26. During this time our elected state representatives and senators will be considering as many as 4,000 bills that can affect the people of this state.

It is the simple act of self-governance that tells us to take responsibility for our communities, families, and relationships with our state legislators. Who better for them to hear from? The people in our state or the special interest groups and lobbyists who visit them daily?

Who will support our state against a runaway federal government? It is the future of our nation that hangs in the balance, with our children and grandchildren living either in freedom or tyranny.

Our State Director John Guinn advises we meet up at 8:00 am on February 7th in the 5.S.3 Conference Room (5th floor, S3 conference room). So arrive early to park, go through security, and arrive on time. Letters and buttons will be distributed then, followed by teams going to each floor to distribute. If you can, try to make an appointment with your legislators between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Legislative sessions occur at 9:00 am AND 1:00 pm, so that may be your best bet.

Legislators will be speaking in the S3 Conference Room at 11:00, 11:15, and 11:30. If your appointment does not conflict, please arrive back in the conference room prior to 11:00 for the speakers. Once the afternoon session begins, that would be a good time for us to attend in the gallery as a group.

We will have a great rally and demonstrate to our legislators that Convention of States is the only group capable of enthusiastically standing up for the U.S. Constitution and restoring our magnificent Republic through Article V.
