On Tuesday, June 11, the Ohio House Government Oversight Committee is scheduled to hold a legislative sponsor hearing regarding HB 607, which is 34|Ready legislation in preparation for how the Ohio legislature will proceed in the appointment of, and instructions to, delegates to an Article V convention.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. ET and can be streamed here.
34|Ready legislation lays a groundwork for legislative support of the Article V resolution in states that have not yet passed it by clarifying procedural details.
Convention of States Action (COSA) co-founder and senior advisor Michael Farris will be traveling to Columbus to meet with Ohio legislators to debunk myths and arguments against calling an Article V convention. Regional director Catherine Zemanek will also be making her way to Columbus to meet with the grassroots and strategize.
The Article V convention resolution (House Joint Resolution 3) is also pending in the House Government Oversight Committee. The committee has held its sponsor, proponent, and opponent hearing for HJR 3, the latter having convened last week.
