The Congressional Budget Office has reported that Obamacare premiums are expected to rise by about 15 percent between 2018 and 2019.
Democrats would like to blame Republicans for the rate hikes, but Obamacare’s devolution was inevitable. Anyone who’s waited in line at the DMV, navigated the almost impenetrable federal tax code, or tried to get a response from any federal agency knows that efficiency and competence aren’t at the top of a bureaucrat’s priority list.
Bureaucrats exists for one reason: to perpetuate the agency. Their attempts to control the national healthcare marketplace have, predictably, resulted in nothing but higher premiums and less efficient healthcare.
The American people know that the best federal government is the smallest, least powerful federal government. They know that continuing to expand D.C.’s jurisdiction will lead to our nation’s decline, which is why millions have joined the Article V Convention of States movement.
A Convention of State was designed for exactly this scenario. It has the power to propose constitutional amendments that limit D.C.’s power to only those things outlined and specifically mentioned in the Constitution (health care isn’t one of those things). It’s called and controlled by the people and the states, and the feds have no power to propose amendments or ratify them.
It’s time to get D.C. out of our daily lives. It’s time to call a Convention of States.
