Sometime around the end of October every year, Johnny Morgan's Tractor Shop in Oxford becomes the meeting place for politicians and constituents to enjoy bar-b-que chicken with all the fixin's.
The function has been billed as the "high-profile, low-key event that is your chance to ask questions of both Democrat & Republican candidates about the things that really get your goat (no offense to the goats)."
At this year's event, candidates from county judges to the governor of Mississippi spoke under a strict 3-minute limit imposed by Johnny Morgan, who would ring a cowbell if anyone went over their time.
MS Convention of State's Linda Davis and Harold Brummet attended the event, where attendees were encouraged to "eat some chicken & grill some politicians."
