On Saturday, Oct. 28th, the Minnesota COS Team held their State Strategy Meeting with over 25 people in attendance from all across the state.
Minnesota held a truly collaborative meeting that was kicked off with Mark Meckler addressing the group by Zoom with an inspiring message. Sen. Cal Bahr and Rep. Walter Hudson - both participants of our recent COS Simulation in Colonial Williamsburg - talked with the group and fielded several questions. During the day, the team also learned about using Municipal Resolutions to influence and educate legislators from Roger Gibb, DC from the Ohio COS team. Lastly, Servant Leadership classes were introduced to the group by Chris Thomas, Director of Mentoring, and Ginny Rapini, Nat’l Grassroots Coordinator.
Of course, Minnesota volunteers were front and center with Legislative Liaison Steve Davidson discussing tips on how to lobby your legislator followed by team breakouts that focused on strategies to achieve three Goals for 2024: 1) Engaging in Elections to Influence Outcomes, 2) Influencing and Educating Legislators for COS Resolution Support, and 3) Growing and Developing the Grassroots Team.
We were blessed to also have Karen Schuster, our Assistant Regional Director from the Flyover Region, travel from Iowa to be with us. It was a great meeting and so wonderful to be in person with our volunteers!
We are fired up and ready to go to work!
