Meet Our Veterans Co-ordinator: Tony Tarkowski

Published in Blog on May 31, 2021 by Kurt O'Keefe

I graduated from Cody High School in June 1966 and worked briefly as a carpenter and making laminate countertops prior to being employed at the Ford Motor Company Wixom Plant. I worked on the final line until May 1968 when I was drafted into the Army. When boot camp was completed, I was assigned to Cook School for Advanced Individual Training and upon completion was designated a 94B20 Cook.

After being temporarily assigned to FT Bragg holding company, I was stationed in Heidelberg Germany for 9 months as a Generals Orderly working in the Headquarters USAREUR Mess Hall, where he was part of a team that won the Phillip A Connelly award for world-wide exceptional food service.

I was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his efforts.

I was then transferred to Mannheim Germany and was assigned to 13th Signal Battalion and served as a First Cook in the 7th Army Headquarters.

Upon return to the United States and attending Henry Ford Community College for a AS Degree in Information Technology, I worked for Taubman Enterprises and various other corporations as a Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, and Project Leader over a period of eleven years.

In June of 1972, I married Maureen and had two children, boys, named Todd and Chad.

Todd now lives in Florida with his wife and two children near where we live during the Winter months due to Tony being a Disabled Veteran with nerve damage in his back.

Chad and his wife currently have two adopted children and live in Clinton Twp.

Next year, we will celebrate 50 years of marriage.

I have owned his own staffing business, Sygnetics Inc since 1986.

It does placement of professionals such as engineers, IT, Admin, and medical personnel on either a contract or direct basis, working with the federal government as well as some commercial companies.

I signed with Convention Of States primarily because of budget busting by bureaucrats that is running the United States into debt that is driving us towards bankruptcy. The hole we are in just keeps getting deeper.

SURGE DAY is nearly here, and my wife and I are truly excited about this Rally to demonstrate how important this resolution is to our Democracy! The people should be running this country, not the politicians!
