Meet Robin Riddell, State Communications Coordinator

Published in Blog on April 11, 2022 by Robin Riddell

It seems as though Robin has been preparing for this role her entire adult life. She describes herself as “a mother, wife, friend, Toastmaster, community activist and life-long marketing junkie.”

robin-riddellShe began her career in advertising as a media buyer, then went on to television advertising sales, where she was a top producer and won an ADDY Award. She was President of the Flint Area Advertising Federation and earned a YWCA Women of Achievement Award while working in television. Robin spent several years as an event producer and manager, and she spent the last 10 years in the digital marketing space managing writing, publishing, and social media with her agency clients.

Facing her fear of public speaking, she became a Toastmaster to develop her skills. She has earned the Distinguished Toastmasters Award three times and served in a leadership capacity nearly every year she’s been a member, sometimes managing club and district leadership roles at the same time. She was the District 48 (West Central, Florida) PR Manager from 2019-2021. The most compelling reason why Robin is still a Toastmaster is that she enjoys mentoring and watching other members grow.

Robin is dedicated to her community. She has served on the association boards of three of the communities she’s lived in. Several years ago, after working to recall three members of a township board, Robin was asked to run and was elected as Trustee to the board. It was an eye-opening experience to see the nastiness and deceit in local politics.

A friend often mentioned Convention of States. In November 2021, Robin attended a town hall with her husband and learned about how we the people can use Article V of the Constitution to reign in control of the federal government. She describes it as “a lightbulb moment.” The answer to the non-responsive Washington DC crowd was quietly tucked away in the Constitution waiting for the people to take action.

With marketing and advertising skills to offer, Robin came on board to help get the Michigan resolution passed. She is building a team of writers, social media warriors, and videographers to support our efforts throughout Michigan.
