Maui Trio Holds First-Ever Event!

Published in Blog on January 04, 2022 by Mark Kenneth White

District Captains Lori Alana, HD-10 (left) Renee Cruz, HD-12 (center), along with SGC Team member Tamara MacKay (right) are leading the charge for COS on the Island of Maui.

On the Wednesday before Christmas, new District Captain Lori Alana, along with two other Convention of States volunteers on Maui organized and held the island’s first separately held COS petition signing event!

Beginning with a GOP community service project at the Lahaina Baptist Church, Lori Alana, Renee Cruz, and Tamara MacKay, along with other volunteers, helped build sack lunches and gave out other meal items for distribution to people in need around west Maui.

Lori Alana proudly wears her COS button assisting other volunteers in support of the Lahaina community.

Following their morning of community service, Lori Alana had arranged for a beach-side BBQ in which her friends, volunteers and church members were treated to free food and beverages courtesy of the COS Maui team. They set up a COS petition signing table and collected 20 new supporters from the local area, representing the first time an independent COS event has been held on the Valley Isle.

Food, fun, fellowship and Convention of States was had by all!

Congratulations and thanks to Lori Alana, Renee Cruz and Tamara MacKay for being such proactive COS volunteers.
