An unforgettable night: Mark Meckler visits New Jersey

Published in Blog on December 02, 2018 by Jonathan Viaud

In his first visit to the Garden State, Mark Meckler gave an iconic speech about the need for a Convention of States that electrified the crowd at Rider University in Lawrenceville.

Over 120 COS supporters and students attended the event co-sponsored by COS New Jersey and the Rider University chapter of Turning Point USA.

Mark gave an hour-long talk, discussing topics such as the American Revolution, today's crazed political climate, and why a convention is the only solution big enough to solve the problems caused by the federal government.

"Mark Meckler did not disappoint us," said Ralph Montemarano, a COS supporter from Montvale. "He was a dynamic speaker and made a very convincing case for the states to take back control of our runaway federal government."

Prior to speaking, Mark met with supporters, as well as members of COS New Jersey and Turning Point USA's Rider University chapter. Leaders from COS New York and COS Maryland joined COS New Jersey to listen to the speech and interact with attendees.

After speaking, Mark took questions from the audience, which included students from Rider University. There were also 18 petitions signed at the event, and nine petition signers indicated their desire to volunteer for the Convention of States Project.

Summing up his experience, Montemarano stated, "I now know for sure I made the right decision to join this grassroots movement!"
