March 27, 1818 - Publication and Distribution of the Journal and Proceedings of the Convention, which formed the present Constitution of the United States.

Published in Blog on January 04, 2022 by Rodney Charles Geil

A significant Christmas gift to all!

A gift to launch into the New Year! A gift from the Founders!

Ours is the constant battle to enlighten the Article V Opposers and free them from their runaway convention "cavil" (as James Madison called the frivolous, specious arguments of the Anti-Federalists).

We say that the Founders had full authority to create a new government of the United States Constitution. Opposers cling to their urban legend slight that the Founders went beyond their authority. Opposers challenge back to us with, "Show the exact reference of the States' resolutions giving the actual credentials to the commissioners of 1787 in Philadelphia."

We show proof either from Jonathan Elliot or Max Farrand, which are drafts of the resolutions as passed by the legislatures. Opposers say that these references are not firsthand documentation and do not prove anything. You no doubt have heard these dodges also.

I considered taking a vacation to the East Coast to replicate Professor Natelson's trek to see the actual resolutions firsthand & do a real-time video of the actual documentation. But with the Opposer's confirmation bias, they no doubt would not be convinced of anything regardless of anyone's efforts.

So, with more determination, I spent a few days deep searching through the Library of Congress and the National Archives.

Success! An official U.S. State Department publication.
.

It is in a Library of Congress webpage, here. In it, I discovered a page detailing the records of the Constitution and buried in the 5th paragraph down, it caught my eye... "Adams published the Journal, Acts and Proceedings of the Convention … which formed the Constitution of the United States." Much to my surprise, it was exactly what I was searching for. It is the actual credentials as presented by the Philadelphia commissioners from each State as they registered at the "Federal Convention" as the Founders referred to it.

This book was published by the State Department led by John Quincy Adams, James Monroe's Secretary of State. One thousand copies were printed as directed by Resolution of Congress of March 27, 1818, calling for the "Publication and Distribution of the Journal and Proceedings of the Convention, which formed the present Constitution of the United States."

This book of 500+ pages (available reprint here) includes not only the official resolution from Congress and the Resolutions of Credentials of each States' commissioners -- the book also contains the "Journal of The Federal Convention," the "journal of the Congress of the Confederation, exhibits the proceedings of that body on receiving the report of the convention," the States' ratification resolutions, the States' ratification resolutions for the Great and Unalienable Rights of Mankind (later called the "Bill Of Rights"), and the Constitution and the 12 amendments ratified up to that publication date.

It should be noted here that NOT ONE of the Federal Convention resolutions from the States or the Confederation Congress directed only "Amending the Articles." NOT ONE!

Conceding a point that there were several that mentioned "revise the Articles" only to the point that the Latin definition of revise is to simply "look again" or to "see again." I would add that the reason Latin is used in legal and medical documents is that the Latin language is considered a dead language... it does not change... not subject to the will of anyone's rationale. As such, "Revise" does not mean amend within boundaries or limitations. By definition, it just means to "look at again."

But the cavil continues as the Far-Right uses the Far-Left tactics to change the meaning of the words that dictate the narrative. I heard a JBS supposed "scholar" (by JBS definition) using a quote, "When an honest man discovers he is mistaken, he will either cease to be mistaken or cease to be honest." Such an event is now evident of the fact that this now applies to all JBS opposition of the Founders' gift of Article V!

So be of good heart this Christmas season. Know that the Founders gave us this great nation and Article V to get us back to the foundations of self-governance. With Article V we can restore sanity and success in the years coming ahead. Thank God Almighty for anointing these honorable men to guide the birthing of the United States of America.

The Opposers of the Far Right and the Far Left will have to contend with their self-conflicted quandary and the conflation with which they need to wrestle.

I, for one, reject the libel of the Runaway Convention as now proven. This official State Department document proves without a doubt that the Founders acted honorably, inspired by God Almighty, to give this nation and the world this greatest form of self-governance. And by God's direction, we have Article V to engage the States to grab hold of this process to save this great nation.

Inspiration indeed will get this accomplished by brave souls who are engaged in this revival. You can learn more by checking out your path and process at www.conventionofstates.com.

In closing, here is a list, while not meant to be exclusive in their participation, but merely a reference as a sample of the many who participated in the records of the forming of the Constitution, including (but not limited to), Col. George Mason, James Madison, George Washington and all of the Founders of the Federal Convention.

Especially noting the eighth Secretary of State, John Quincy Adams who was given the task to oversee the publication of these official journals that recorded the first-hand writings of Madison, William Jackson, Charles Pickney, Ralph Yates, Melancton Smith (in Congress), Rufus King, James McHenry, William Pierce, William Paterson, and Alexander Hamilton -- all took notes of varying degrees of detail and length.

Yes, indeed, The State Department Book & Article V. Written by Inspired Men, Inspired by God... to Restore this Great Nation.
