Use the following talking points:
(Remember to be kind and courteous. You may be the first to be sharing this information.)
- Our federal government has expanded its power over the states and citizens actively denying the truths expressed in our Declaration of Independence that have defined American greatness – that we are created equal and endowed with rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness which no government can take.
- Federalism - the separation of national and state powers - serves to protect these rights from government.
- The People, through our U.S. Constitution, have placed great authority on our state legislatures to provide the failsafe check and balances to correct our government system when necessary. The Founders knew correction would be necessary.
- Convention of States is the only movement capable of restoring the separation of powers to our Constitution by restricting the federal government to certain enumerated powers.
- Limit the terms of office for members of Congress and other federal officials.
- Restrict the authority of the federal government to tax, spend and borrow.
- Limit power and jurisdiction of the federal government to those enumerated in the Constitution.
- Americans have always risen to face the threats to our peace and prosperity.
- With great authority comes great responsibility. Do you want to be someone who saw the threat and failed to act?
- Passing the Convention of States resolution is the most important legislative action you will ever take.
- Nineteen states have applied to have a Convention of States under Article V. Are you ready to make Kansas number 20 or otherwise join the states passing in 2023?
